Shermane has spoken at a variety of Women’s events and conferences spreading the message of God’s love, redemption, hope and freedom.

Shermane Reed is a devoted wife, mother, friend, writer, speaker and women’s abuse ministry leader.

Her passion for empowering abuse survivors is connected to her own abuse story. Although she was baptized as a child, healing, redemption and transformation did not occur until 2012 when she renewed her relationship with Jesus Christ and was rebaptized. She firmly believes that a person’s destiny is found in sharing his or her story, and she also believes everyone’s testimony can be used to impact the kingdom of God. God gave Shermane a vision to empower abuse survivors, and show them the power of their testimony. 

That vision came to fruition in January 2017 when she hosted the Still I Rise Women’s Abuse Survivor Conference in Lafayette, Louisiana. Because of her obedience to God’s leading, the conference is now held annually and has lead to a non profit ministry, Determined To Rise Ministry which empowers female abuse survivors to restart, restore, and reclaim their lives in safe Christ-centered environments.

When called on to speak at events, Shermane’s favorite topic to share with others is the love, hope, freedom and redemption found in Jesus Christ. Shermane greatest joy is bringing the bible to life by applying true biblical stories to real life situations.
